Monkey Around Birthday Card

 Monkey Around Birthday Card

My mom was inspired by LAWN FAWNATICS CHALLENGE 176 – FUN WITH FOOD and decided that it would be fun to make a fun fold Monkey Birthday Card! So Let's Monkey Around and make a card.

Here is the card:

She started with a 8 1/2" x 11" dark brown cardstock to cut for the card base.
She cut the cardstock to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored the card in the middle at 4 1/4".
The White cardstock for the accordion fold insert inside the card was cut at 5 1/4" x 8" and scored at 4" and 6".

The Lawn Fawn designer specialty paper from their Fruit Salad Collection (my mom's personal favorite designer paper) was cut to 5 1/4" x 4". then 2 more pieces of the paper cut at 1 3/4" x 5". The so-a-peeling paper out of the Fruit Salad Collection.

For the circles, Cut the largest circle out of the base and the front designer paper. Cut the next circle size down out of copper cardstock paper. The final and smallest (next size down from the copper circle) circle out of brown cardstock paper.

She inserted the white cardstock into the brown card base and glued it down. Glued down the smaller stripes of designer paper to the white folds of the white cardstock. She then lined up the circles and glues them down.
Using My Favorite Things, Monkey Around stamp set, she stamped the saying and one monkey directly onto the white cardstock insert. She Stamped the front saying on a banner die cut out of white cardstock. She stamped cake and the other monkey on white cardstock, colored them and used the coordinating die set to cut them out. She used gold thread behind the cake.

And that's it.

  1. Awww, this card is so sweet! I love the banana theme and the monkeys are super cute! The banana card stock is perfect for the design and the golden thread behind the cake is such a clever idea! Thank you for playing along with the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! Catherine
