Apple & Seeds Thank You Card
It is Summer time! The heat, cool water, popsicles, trips, and all the fresh fruits and veggies we love and enjoy! Life is good, indeed!
Hello All! Today I was feeling inspired by the Simon Says IG Challenge for the month of July, LAWN FAWNATICS CHALLENGE 176 – FUN WITH FOOD, My Favorite Things Color Challenge, and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog's theme: Summer Fun! So I decided to make a fun little card featuring a big green apple with seeds. I used seed stencil, lawn fawn fruit salad paper, Tim Holtz distress black opaque texture paste, distress broken china ink, distress watercolor pencils, and the apple blueprint stamp from the Tim Holtz Schoolhouse Blueprints collection. Here is the Card:
I started out by stamping the apple on 140 lb Let's Make Art watercolor paper to stamp the apple on. I colored the Apple with Tim Holtz Watercolor Distress Pencils and then used water and a round 4 Princeton heritage paint brush to blend out the watercolor pencil color on the apple.
For the card:
I started out with a 5" x 7" brown cardstock to make the card base. I then cut out a piece of blue cardstock for the background for the apple. I also Cut out a piece of lawn fawn fruit salad paper and white heavy card stock so they would create the background of the card. I used heavy card stock so it would take the heavier media and not warp as much. Before I placed the cardstock on the card base, I did the stenciling to make the seeds and brushed the edges with broken China Distress ink.
I used a blending brush and brushed the inside of the card with the broken china distress ink
And that's it! Simple, fun, and Summer Vibes! That color combo is now a forever favorite!
Happy Summer vibes to you all! I hope you feel inspired to create something that represents summer vibes and fun! Make a crafting memory!
