A Nutcracker Christmas Card!

A Nutcracker Christmas Card!

Hello everyone! It's very hot outside so we are so glad to be crafting on some Christmas cards, dreaming of cooler weather! Happy Christmas in July! Thank you for stopping by, we are so glad you did!

This card was inspired by all of the fun Christmas in July Crafty Challenges going on! I purchased this adorable stamp set from Gerda Steiner and couldn't wait to use it! I love the look of this nutcracker with the little mice dancing! I used masking to layer the mice and the nutcracker! I also wanted to make it look like a stage, so I drew the stage and did a lot of ink blending for the background. I really loved how this card turned out! I sent it on to someone for a card swap but I am planning on making another one! It was so much fun! Links to all the challenges are near the end of this post!

Here is the card:

Products I used:

  • Gerda Steiner The Nutcracker Stamp Set
  • Scrapbook.com Holographic Paper Pad
  • Tim Holtz Lumber Jack Plaid, Rustic Wilderness, Fossilized Amber, Crackling Campfire, Rusty Hinge, Walnut Stain and Gathered Twig
  • Simon Says Stamp Nocturne Black VersaFine Clair Ink Pad
  • Simon Says Stamp Masking Paper
  • Various colored cardstock and embellishments from personal crafting stash
  • Various colored fine-line markers and pencils

Let it Snow Mr. Frostie! A Wintery Christmas Card!

The Layout of this card was inspired by the TOP Sketch #44 Challenge! I flipped the sketch a little bit to accommodate the larger stamped image and sentiment! Links to all the challenges are near the end of this post! Check them out and join in the fun!

For this card I used Tim Holtz's Mr. Frostie Stamp Set! I created my own background (the lower dark blue portion of the card and the edging around the snowman and sentiment) by using distress inks, Moon Dust Stickles, Clear Skies Astro Paste and the snowflake in the Mr. Frostie Stamp set! I dug into the christmas paper scraps and used the fun snowflake paper scraps for the top of the card, the strip, and around Mr. Frostie! I loved how this card turned out!
