Dragon's New Year Card
Today, my Mom and I are enjoying our week long summer family "stay-cation" and decided to make a few cards. Looking into all the card challenges we like to participate in we deicide to make some New Year's cards and Happy Birthday cards for the Lunar Challenge, Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
For this card I made a Dragon's New Year Card. I wanted to make it look like a dragon shooting star, because why not? haha!
I started out with a white cardstock card base. I used Lawn Fawn Let it Shine Starry Skies blue and gold paper as the background. Using My Favorite Things Magical Dragons stamp and coordinating die set, I stamped out the dragons on Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper and then cut them out. I used Tim Holtz distress watercolor pencils and distress Spritz Spray, fossilized amber and picked raspberry to color the dragons, paper, and new years sentiment. I used gold paper - various colors and types- and used the spellbinders rainbow slice die cuts to make the gold strips behind the dragon. I added gold glitter paper, a strip of the lawn fawn paper, fossilized amber distress Spritz spray, and a little dragon all to create the insert for the inside of the card.
Here is the card:
