A Dragon Birthday Card
Well, my mom and I are enjoyed our weeklong summer family "stay-cation" and decided to make a few cards between fixing our crafting room, a day trip to Logan, Utah, my Watercoloring and my mom scrapbooking, and getting ready for the Eastern Idaho State Fair. Looking into all the card challenges we like to participate in we decided to make some New Year's cards and Happy Birthday cards for the Lunar Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
For this card I made a Dragon Birthday Card.
I started out with a dark blue cardstock for the card base.
Using My Favorite Things Magical Dragons stamp and coordinating die set, I stamped out the dragons on Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper and then cut them out. I used Tim Holtz distress watercolor pencils and fossilized amber distress Spritz Spray to color the dragon.
I embossed the Happy Birthday Sentiment, from the Spellbinders Typewriter Adventure Sentiments Clear Stamps set, the gold embossing gold powder is from Simon Says
Stamp collection.
I used glimmer - various colors - and used the spellbinders tunnel clouds die cuts to make the cloud tunnel behind the dragon for the background. I added a balloon that was die cut out of copper paper, copper thread to go with the dragon.
Here is the card:
......and that's it!
Happy crafting to you all! We hope you feel inspired to
create something and if you can, craft with your family and/or friends and make
some fun memories together!
